“Blackjack” | Robert Gosse Original | AVAILABLE NOW ON
Growing up, music was part of the family tradition. If not a jam session than a kitchen party! It still really is a family affair, and everyone’s invited!
Robert Gosse has been entertaining the masses all his life with his comedic flair. Taking the stage for the first time as a showcased singer at a “Grand Old Opry” style show produced by his father was the precursor to what has become a whirlwind ride for him musically.
He competed as the underdog in the Country 105 Rising Star competition in 2012, entering as the new guy in the game and making the finals! He returned again in 2018 as a Top 4 Finalist out of 100’s of contestants and 20 semi-finalists. Both events packed some serious punch and Robert credits his monstrous following, fondly dubbed the #GossiePosse for their unwavering support.
He has taken the local country music scene by storm – playing rooms like Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dancehall and Big Al’s Bar & Grill on a regular rotation, as well as representing the best of Calgary entertainment to numerous businesses and corporations during Stampede Week and throughout the year. You’ve also seen him at Knoxville Tavern, Cowboy’s Dance Hall, the Westin Ballroom, the Calgary Petroleum Club and along the parade route as well.
His set list is packed full of tunes that will get you off your seat and dancing! While paying homage to the pioneers of country music, his show also includes the top hits of today. Back to back party and anthem songs you’ll sing along to, noting his favorites are acts like Eric Church and Zac Brown Band. His show is one you do not want to miss, as Robert adds new material to his set regularly – You’ll know all the words to sing along!
Also new to the set list this year are his original pieces: “Blackjack”, “In a Country Song” and “Relapse of Relaxation”. “Blackjack” was released to Canadian Country Radio during Stampede Week of 2018 and boasts a “gut punch of lyrical sorcery that makes you want to crank it up loud!”
Robert has built up quite a reputation in the music scene performing along side Charlie Major, Doc Walker, Julian Austin, Adam Gregory and Gord Bamford at various festivals and events in Alberta. This summer he headlined the Airdrie Pro Rodeo; and Stampede Week he shared the stage with George Canyon and Meghan Patrick. It’s been a rocket year so far and it’s not over yet!
